When should I arrive to class?
If it’s your first class arrive about 15 minutes early so that we can give you a tour of the studio and get you familiar with the machines and equipment.
Will I be allowed into class if I’m late?
Life happens and we can all relate to being late, but anyone later than 10 mins will not be allowed to take class and will result in a no-show cancellation.
Where do I park?
There’s free parking in the City Parking Structure behind Grit and Gratitude.
What do I need for class?
Bring your grip socks, water bottle and an attitude of gratitude.
Is this Pilates?
We use pilates reformers and a lot of our instructors are classically trained, but Grit & Gratitude is NOT classical pilates. Our workouts are fitness inspired, blended with pilates, yoga and meditation practices to get you out of your head and back into your body. We focus each class on building strength, balance, flexibility, cardio, coordination and endurance.
Can I take classes if I’m pregnant?
Yes! We require a signed doctor’s note and our teachers will offer modifications as needed.
How does the Power Plate work?
Engineered precisely to apply the body’s natural reflexive response to vibration, Power Plate technology uses a vibrating platform which moves 25 to 50 times per second. This results in corresponding muscle activation throughout the whole kinetic chain. The vibrations are harmonic, which are safe, consistent and controlled levels of vibration, moving in three directions (up and down, forwards and backwards and side to side).
What is your Late Cancel Policy?
We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. There will be a charge of $15 for late cancellations after that time if you have an unlimited package, otherwise, you will lose your class session. Switching class times within the 12 hour period still results in a late cancel charge. If you “no show” for a class, there will be a charge of $20. These fees are applicable to all memberships.
Will using the Power Plate help me lose weight?
Significant weight loss is often reported by those who use Power Plate regularly in conjunction with a healthy diet. One of the reasons for this is increased lymphatic flow and associated removal of biological waste, and retained fluid. Research shows, when used as part of an active lifestyle, Power Plate may have a significant impact upon the reduction of body fat. This may occur due to increases in metabolism both during and following exercise.
How does the waitlist work?
Waitlist sign ups require a class credit to hold your spot and can be canceled at any time prior to the 12 hr cancellation window via our app or your account. If you do not make it into class, your class credit will be returned to your account for future booking. We would advise only doing 1 waitlist per day rather than multiple classes on the same day. You can be added into class up to 1 hr before the class start time and you will be notified by text and email. Switching time slots under the 12 hr cancellation period will result in a late cancel charge.
Are phones allowed in the studio?
During the class, the studio space is a cell free zone. We understand some of you need your phones for the health of your children, work, etc., but we kindly ask that you leave it out of sight.
We always want to remind everyone that filming in the studio is not allowed. We want G+G to continue to be a safe space for healing, so please allow for yourself and other to disconnect and reconnect in real time. We appreciate you!
